My husband and I have the Ricardo del Mar 24" rolling suitcases...one in brick red, the other in hunter green. They have worked great on our travels...with just the right size and compartments. I bought them at Steinmart with a coupon and paid less than 60 each for them. I recently bought a rolling tote like Marilyn's at Ebags when they were having no shipping and 20% off (less than $35.) I am eager to try it out. It will be so nice to roll it around in the airports rather than having a tote slung over my shoulder. We love our Ricardos.

Costco online has great prices on Briggs and Riley luggage right now. Far less $ than ebags.com

Our luggage choices get smaller all the time, and lighter, too. I must say that the Ricardo and Atlantic luggage that we have purchased over the years at Marshall's stands out. Both have taken a beating and still serve us well.

I am not sure about having a suiter. Can anyone tell me the advantages as you perceive them?

I can think of the disadvantages: for people like us that only do carry-on, the suiter takes up room and adds weight.

On our recent 12 day trip to Italy, because of weather delays and other problems, everyone we met that was traveling was doing so without benefit of their luggage! We met 4 different people whose luggage was lost and did without for over 4 days each. Ay caramba.

In the meantime, our Ricardo and Atlantic 21 inchers each weigh less than 9 pounds. We had more than enough clothing, and came home with clean things that we need not have packed.

I'm really not trying to force my packing style on anyone and I apologize if it sounds that way. I guess I needed to remind myself of why I spend so much time choosing luggage and deciding what to pack.

One more point: I bought a silk knit night shirt (long T shirt shape) from Winter Silks and it was perfect. Very light weight and I could rinse it and it dried in no time at all. 1 nightie for the entire trip. I was thrilled.

Suiters are good if you have a lot of hanging clothes. I used one all the time when I did a lot of business travel. Even on vacation, I usually have a few shirts that I would prefer to hang rather than fold, but I find that a suitcase with a loop that will accommodate a few hangers works well.

I love the RBH design with a floating divider. There are 2 sections, one that will accommodate hangers, but you can utilize the space however you like. So you can pack more or less in either space as required, or use one of the spaces for all your dirty clothes on the way home.

Ok...

This weekend I went to TJMaxx( for the first time, never been before!)

I found a beautiful Kenneth Cole 26" suiter that was for $119. It was nylon and had a fairly deep interior, wet pocket and toiletry bag, etc.
The weight did not seem overly heavy, but it was not super light either.

I then compared it to a Delsey Horizon 26" which was $99. The Kenneth Cole was much more beautiful and had a deeper interior. All the other bags they had did not really interest me; ugly Samsonites, useless Diane Von Furstenberg, etc.

Since no one mentioned Kenneth Cole I was wondering if anyone out there owns one and/or can tell me the advantages/disadvantages.

TJMaxx had them at a much lower price than ebags.

Thanks a mil.....

Hi

I'm in a little bit of a dilemna...
I'm about to move abroad and need to pack alot of things with me. I'd also however would love to use a bag that's versatile for frequent travelling.
My main concern is weight and size at the moment due to baggae allowance. Esp. for international travels.

I'm a little undecisive whether to go for a Victorinox 27" or a 24".

Would appreciate any helpful comments :)

hanna- I'd use the smaller suitcase + ship a box ahead by freight service.

hanna- Also you might want to start a new thread of your own, since this one is 1-1/2 years old, people might not read thru to your question at the bottom.

Hi Suze

Many thanks for the reply!

I'll start up another one to get more feedback! I'm going to take your suggestion into consideration
