Best location for shoes?

Other than the large department stores, is there any street(s) that have a lot of terrific shoe stores?

Bergman Street

Do you want to give us ANY idea what city you are asking about?

Well, that was the stupidest thing I did today!!! I was reading all the posts about Paris and that's the city I was referring to. Sorry.

No contest - rue de dragon in the 6th, right off Blvd. St. Germain. Shoe store heaven, store after store.

at least you can laugh about it, I do that too sometimes

One street is rue St-Placide on the Left Bank, there are lots of discount clothing stores on that street also, so it's generally good for shopping

Thanks for cluing us in that you're referring to Paris. I agree that rue du Dragon is good for shoe stores-from what I've read. I'll be sure to pass down this street when I visit in two months.
