Best jewelery store in Paris?

Traveling to Paris in a few weeks and wondering if anyone has experience with a good jewelery store in Paris. We want to buy my daughters high shool graduation present there. She does not know exactly what she wants, but I'm sure she'll find something! Instead of getting her gift at home we thought a more memorable gift would be from our trip. Please let me know if you have purchased anything from a particular store in Paris or know of a good store. Thank you!

My boss, a well-known person, recommends either Mauboussin or Chaumet on Place Vendome. VERY expensive.

Look at the shops along the Rue du Rivoli; some offer high-quality costume jewelry. I found a lovely enamelled necklace for around $100

It will be fun to look all over!

Be sure to check the vast jewelry departments in Galeries Lafayette (worth a visit just for the amazing interior!) and Printemps (with your 10% discount cards and tax refund assistance with minimum purchase...).

One of the most charming jewelry stores I notice last month was on the corner of Place de Pont Neuf and Quai des Orfevres (right around the corner from the gorgeous Place Dauphine). The gent in there was a bit pushy, but prices went down and down of everything I picked up during my visit. (Didn't buy anything, but there was a large selection of very nice things.)

I also forgot to mention Boucheron and Van Cleef & Arpels.
