Best hotel or B&B in Bruges for Christmas
My husband and I will be staying in Bruges for Christmas. We're hoping to stay in a hotel or B&B that is appropriately cosy and warm...one that invokes the Christmas spirit. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank yoU! |
We stayed at Number 11 for 4 nights last year and really loved it.
http://www.number11.be/index.htm The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was great, very comfortable and it had everything we wanted. The breakfast table was always beautifully laid out with lots of choice and the location is central too. They have excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. Kay |
We loved the Prinsenhof. I think it would be gorgeous at Christmas.

I stayed at "Be My Guest" right in Bruge in Sept. Anne the owner is wonderful and the rooms are great. You can email her at:

The Absoluut Verhulst! Absolutely! http://www.b-bverhulst.com/ If you google their name, you will see lots of great reviews---you will not be disappointed--Benno and Frieda are wonderful hosts!

We were very very satisfied with this B&B:
http://www.huyzehertsberge.be/index.html The owner also has 2 rooms next door (the dining room and common areas are shared): http://www.bruges-bedandbreakfast.be/ This one is rated #1 in B&B in Bruges. I'd rate my stay there an 11 out of 10, it was that great!! |
For what it's worth, we too have stayed at Absoluut Verhulst and would return in a heartbeat. As stated the owners are fantastic hosts, good location, can't be beat. Whereever you stay I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. Enjoy Brugge for the holidays.

May I suggest a lovely manor, Hotel Egmond, on the "Minnewater"..park-like grounds...not a prettier setting in Brugge...about a ten minute very interesting walk to the centrum. We, and a number of famly members, have stayed there over the years..highly recommend. http://www.egmond.be/uk/ stu t. |
I love Brugge at Christmas! You will not be dissapointed. If you have a chance climb the belfrey for the Sunday 2:00 pm concert. Absolutly amazing, if you enjoy fabulous food with divine service please go to see Frankie and Madame at "kardinaalshof" 2 minute walk from the center. Please tell them the Smiths from DC send their love! Last year we drove from Paris just to have our second dinner with them. We stayed at Erasmus and the owner Tom is a doll, great breakfast, clean, big rooms, some facing the canal and 1/2 block from the center. It may not be as "Christmasey" (a Amyism) as you would like but great location and you couldnt ask for nicer owners. the lounge had 200 different beers and an interesting and yummy menu. The chocolate factory is so much fun and informative and if you get a chance the lace museum in the evenings has a demonstration with the older women showing their amazing craft. The Christmas markets are filled with great food and not the usual made in China stuff you see in other markets. I hope this gives you a taste of what a great place Brugge is, I wish we could go back again for dinner at Kardinaalshof but this year the "father/daughter" fling is in Portugal and of course a few days in Paris. Have a fantastic time and I am jelious!

Hey,
I want to recommend guesthouse Bonifacius http://www.bonifacius.be/ The rooms in this historical house have all comfort. Sitting in front of the open fire with a cup of coffee or glass of wine is so romantic. But I should not wait to book, this house has only three rooms. |
Hi there:
Haven't been yet, but have a reservation at the following B & B in Bruges at the beginning of Jan 2009. Can't wait! Marie-Rose is extremely helpful and nice, and very responsive over email. Here's the information if you'd like to give them a try: Ronny & Marie-Rose D’Hespeel-Debruyne Lange Raamstraat 18 B - 8000 Brugge Tel: 00 32 50 34 76 06 Fax: 00 32 50 34 02 85 Email: [email protected] My rate is €60 per night for a double room, private bathroom and large breakfast included. Again, can't comment specifically since we haven't stayed yet, but it's another option nonetheless. Hope you enjoy Bruges! |
We liked Hotel Adornes very much. It's a small hotel, the rooms are not tiny, and the beds are very comfortable. Great location on a canal, very good breakfast, extremely nice staff:

We loved the Pand Hotel, it was a great romantic getaway.
