Best Hotel Option early flight from Frankfurt Germany?

Hello, we are traveling from Frankfurt Germany on a flight to the USA in September leaving mid-morning. Would appreciate advice on where to stay? Should we stay near airport for easy access - or is it feasible to commute from the city without a problem? Hotel recommendations and websites to book would be very helpful! Thanks

While you can certainly stay in the city and take a train to the airport, we usually just stay somewhere close to the airport.

We've found the Holiday Inn Express in Moerfelden to be good. They have a shuttle to the airport or they have a car park if you have a rent car.

There's not much around there, but you can walk directly across the street and down a little road to a very nice Italian Restaurant.

The last couple of years, we've stayed in Ginsheim which is a little further from Frankfurt Airport but that only makes sense if you have a car. It's still only a 20-25 minute drive. The hotel is on an arm of the Rhein River and has a great restaurant and a relaxing atmosphere.

It is very easy to commute from the city to the airport. It is a short trip by S-Bahn, and the service is very frequent.

It takes about 12 minutes by train from the main train station to the airport. We have stayed at the 4* Movenpick Hotel the past 2 trips which we booked on Priceline for about $90 and it will be less if you book for a weekend night. The taxi from the train station to the hotel is about 6€. Breakfast is expensive. 19€

We are also flying out of Frankfurt to
USA in September and have reservations at Intercity Hotel. We stayed at the Sheraton airport hotel last year for the convenience of walking directly into the airport, but found for our flight we had to take a short shuttle ride. It was easy, but not what we paid a lot extra to do. If you put Frankfurt airport hotels in the Fodor's search box some past posts should come up. Also if you Google or use some other search engine for the same you will get lots of information.
There are lots of choices-hope you make the perfect one.

Well, I stayed at Hotel Noello in Offenbach at the "Bieber" train station (36€ single, 48€ double).

Nice place to stay, a quite good and inexpensive italian restaurant right next to it, good breakfast included. You have to change the S-Bahn train at the next stop once, to get to the airport, but it's on the same platform.

I do recommend this place!!, all I needed plus clean and friendly people.

And I'm known to be picky about those things. :D

The Intercity is right outside the airport, about a two minute shuttle bus ride. I have parked in their garage before, and the hotel looks very clean and nice.

My wife and I stayed at the Intercity Frankfurt Airport two summers ago. They have a free shuttle to the airport and the price we paid gave us access to their substantial breakfast buffet. We would certainly stay there again if we had an early flight out.

We booked through GTA Hotels.

I don't know if you have interest in an easy trip in from neighboring areas, but on advice from Fodorites, on my trip out of Frankfurt a couple of years ago I stayed my last night in Mainz, a pleasant nearby town with solid hotels across the street from the train station which gave easy access to the airport. (Get train to the airport stop, not to downtown Frankfurt.) As a poster above said there are a number of threads which may be helpful. I'll see if I can track down the one that helped me.

Thanks everyone for your ideas and help! We may be interested in staying in Mainze. Hotels near the airport seem heavily booked and are very expensive?? Any hotels in Mainze anyone would recommend? Thanks again

Looks like there is something going on in Frankfurt that is causing the hotel rates to go up. Must be a large conference or exhibit. We ran into this a couple of years ago which is why we ended up staying in Ginsheim. You may find the same problem in Mainz.
