Best hotel in florence
I have been researching for days for the perfect hotel in Florence. We will be there for 4 days on our honeymoon in November. After reading numerous posts and researching tripadvisor, we sort of have it narrowed down to Hotel Pierre and Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni. These are both in our price range. We want to be within close walking distance to all the major sites.
We will be taking the train into Florence from Venice and then out of Florence to Rome so proximity to the train station would be an added bonus. But I've been reading that it is not a good neighborhood around the train station? Advice from anyone who has stayed at either or both hotels, would be greatly appreciated! |
I plan to stay at Antica Torre in May, so, I will let you know! I eagerly anticipate staying here as I have heard nothing but glowing reviews. I have not heard of the other one.

We stayed at Hotel Antica Torre Tornabuoni and loved it. It is very small and on the smart shopping street Via Tornabuoni, next to the Santa Trinita Bridge. If you decide to stay there, see if you can get a room with its own terrace. Ours had views of the Arno and the Duomo (Room 503). The website shows all the rooms clearly. Breakfast in August was on the rooftop terrace, with spectacular panoramic views of Florence. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the sights. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to try to answer them.(www.tornabuoni1.com)

Thanks for all the advice! In looking at the prices at the Antica Torre Tornabuoni, I notice the standard double is only $30 cheaper than the double superior. Did either of you stay in a superior? Was it worth the little extra money?

I don't know the difference, but as I mentioned, our room had a terrace, which was certainly worth 30 euros extra - perhaps it was a superior room. We really enjoyed being able to sit outside with a glass of wine, though of course, it will not be quite so warm in November.

I stayed at the Pierre and thought it was outstanding in terms of location, and service.
Best wishes on your upcoming wedding, BC |
