Best GBP 250 Per Night London Hotel

And a good breakfast of course !

We are looking for some new inspiration. We have stayed around the Green Park area on Piccadilly over the years on various visits from Australia.

Now we are ready to try something different, but still prefer fairly centrally located.

Maybe still in Mayfair, close to a convenient tube station, towards Belgravia/Chelsea or even near the British Museum.

Thank you for any ideas and experiences you may have.

Here are a couple of random ideas:

Montage on the Gardens, near the British Museum. Good traditional hotel in a quietish side street.

Something a bit different - the Mondrian London at Sea Containers - very stylish & modern hotel on the South Bank of the Thames.

Looking for a hotel with recommendations is easy these days. Use Booking.com There will be more reviews on there than suggestions on here.

Our visit will be for 4 nights and so an apartment is not preferred this time. However, thank you for you point Joe.

In the case of visits for a few weeks to Caribbean Islands we have found the apartment offerings were in fact the best for us.

Booking.com and all the many others are not great places for advice IMHO and most provide very little benefit, because hotel lowest price guarantees tend to prevail as the best price option for those who are well informed.

That is largely why I like to come here and share travel experiences.

We are looking at a number of options for London Hotels and of course would like to learn of others that are currently providing the best value for money.

Look at St. Ermin's near the St. James' Park tube station.

We have reservations for Taj St. James Park in October. Looks great and price was under US $200 a night with breakfast.

Booked on hotels.com

It depends on how flexible you are with your location, but if you are prepared to go a bit further east (Spitalfields, Shoreditch etc) you can get decent places like the Hoxton well within your budget.

The downside is travel is not as quick or easy as being more central. The upside is appealing markets, some excellent ethnic food options (Vietnamese, Indian etc), street art, and a different vibe from the West End.

The area around St James Park - Taj, St Ermins etc certainly does offer fairer value than most central areas. We may book The Taj but will venture on and see what else is out there for 2nd week August stay. I also like the Cavendish and Jermyn St location.

I do not understand that.
Firstly, Booking cannot guarantee the lowest price on the internet. Due to some EU ruling. However if you done a search for the lowest price if you so wish.
Second point; One can search to order your results in points awarded, location and other methods. Price does not have to come in to your search criteria.
Third point; with Booking you only see genuine reviews, from those who have actually stayed there. Unlike other websites or forums.
