Best flick of the year to date...."Intouchables"
Perhaps this belongs in the lounge, but I don't care to go there. i tagged it France...it takes place entirely in France, Paris and the Channel coast.
In my Hollywood opinion, it is a so-called "must-see"....it will squeeze every emotion out of you. The screen will give you humor, pathos, story line, drama,, poignancy, superb acting performances by the entre cast ( especially the two leads)...you will laugh, grin, choke-up, tear-up, and want to stand up and cheer at the end...I did, along with many of the other movie- goers. It's enirely in French (subtitles) with a smattering of African dialects...the eclectic soundtrack is enough to make you tap your tootsies. You will see the two leads again at award time.
I know it's playing in many of America's larger cities..when it will reach the heartland, I don't know. If you have to drive a goodly distance to see it, don't balk.for a moment.
It has been a huge success in many other nations to date. so Fodorites from many other countries will have an opportunity to see it.
I see about 50 movies a year and I couldn't wait to get home to post this. Enjoy it!

I saw the trailer when I went to the Marigold Hotel movie and it looked like a wonderful movie. Usually the trailers show the best of the film and often I'm disappointed so it's good to know that this is something worthwhile. I can't wait until it plays in my local arts theater.
Thanks for the review!

There is a theater in Pittsburgh , well actually there are a couple of them, where it is now playing.
It is about 35 miles or more for us to go there but I love movies, except some of the crap ones they are making these days, but a good movie is always worth the drive to me.
Someone else had told me about the film but I really didn't think it would be anywhere near here. I usually have to rely on a dvd release for many of these movies. This will be a treat.

Last weekend, finally watched. A month ago they were showing in West LA, so was pondering the trip to there. But Arclight brought it to Pasadena. Thank you Tower for posting it here. It is my hope more and more people watch this wonderful, positive movie

P.S. Somehow we would see you home. Concert starts at 9pm. Not sure what time it gets over, but I never stay until the end. Maybe 10:30. Plus, I will know you if I see you. Me, I'm not that friendly. However, my family is very friendly and welcoming. Interesting enough, daughter and SIL leave for Northern Italy in a few days. You might have much to talk about.
