Best Fish n Chips near Piccadilly
 

We will be staying at Le Meridian Piccadilly and am looking for the best place for fish n chips in the area---any suggestions?

I've read the strands on the recommended fish n chips places---however, I don't really have a sense of distance in London & would like to be able to walk to lunch.

Please advise---it seems that Seashell seams to be rather popular--is that close to my hotel?

I've never eaten at Seashell, but to quote Harden's, the definitive UK restaurant guide, "it's on the tourist trail, and it's looking pretty tired".

It is a loooooooong walk from Piccadilly, but you can take the tube to Marleybone. A bit closer is Rock and Sole Plaice on Endell Street in Covent Garden -- still a good walk.

Anyone know of any other good places that are within walking distance from the hotel?

Maybe someone will come up with something for you, but frankly LeMeridien is in a very upscale, business, and tourist area. I'm trying to picture a typical fish and chips place near there and can't even imagine such a thing.

J. Sheeky in Leicester square does excellent fish and assorted sea foods.

Yea, J. Sheekey is one of the best seafood restaurants around. Very pricey but worth it. And they do have lunch specials. Think innovative, creative, and beautifully prepared dishes. Owned by The Ivy people. But if you're looking for takeout fish and chips in newspaper -- this ain't it!!!!

Ooops. Sorry my mistake. I've described a great restaurant called J. Sheekey. But m_kingdom who screams whenever someone mispells or uses incorrect grammar is obviously talking about a totally different place called "J. Sheeky", since I know he couldn't possibly spell it wrong. Maybe it IS your fish and chips place.

But back to your question -- le Meridian is not in a chippy (fish-n-chips storefront) type neighborhood.

But in your wanderings in other parts of town you will come across many . . . . .
