THE VIEW FROM THE BALCONY OF THE PARKHOTEL VILLA NIZZA IN LUGANO, SWITZERLAND. LAKE LUGANO, MONTE BRE, THE CITY CENTER ARE ALL THERE FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT. THE LIGHTS WINKING ON IN THE EVENING ARE ESPECIALLY DELIGHTFUL. AND TO TOP IT OFF, THE HOTEL ITSELF IS A JEWEL!

Our view from our bathroom at I due Roccoli on Lake Iseo, Italy--the lake, the hills behind and the small island.
But one of our best views wasn't of a lake at all, it was just low hanging fog that looked like a lake and covered the valley below the hill town of Gordes. Magical.

Will 2nd the Gruner Baum in Hallstatt. Also, the Des Balances in Luzern. Actually overlooks the Reuss River but with the mountains in the background and the beautiful churches and bridges in the foreground, it is awesome!

You know I've got to add my view from the Albergo Panorama in Gerra on Lago Maggiore, especially at night. You can see from Pino, Italy at your far left all the way to Ascona off to your right. I'm just a sucker for twinkling lights, I guess. And I do love the quiet.
jmv, if you're around, can you tell me more about your stay on Iseo? Did I miss a trip report? I'd love to read details or see pictures. It sounds lovely. J.
