Best Edinburgh B & B

Visiting my son at U of Edinburgh during last week in October. Want to stay at attractive, reasonably priced, well located B & B. Ideas? Thanks!

I stayed at 16 Lynedoch Place, a lovely B&B, 2 summers ago. You'll find reviews of it on tripadvisor.com and mentioned on fodors a lot.

Hi. Try the Castle View - wonderful location, great rooms, excellent value. They have a lovely breakfast and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Edinburgh. It is literally 1 block up the street from Rose St and it's pubs and only 5min walk down to Princes St.

Enjoy.

Bringing your message back up "to the top"... since you are "new" here (and it might appear that you didn't recall... or didn't know how to find) making an earlier post here.

How do I know this? Click on your own name. This is a valuable tip that Fodors fails to provide to you when they send you that initial e-mail confirming your registration.

Best wishes,

Rex

We loved Castle View as well...but be sure that you are able to schlep your bags up 4 long flights of stairs (and after having a pint or two of Tenants at the pubs on Roses Street!). The breakfasts were excellent!
