Best driving map for Ireland?

I will be heading to Ireland for nine days in April and doing a good deal of driving around the country. Can anyone please recommend a driving map?

Thank you!

Get a Michelin Map #923 and a Michelin Ireland Green Guide. Once you are there check for local maps that may give more of the small side roads etc..

I have found that, all over the British Isles, the Ordinance Survey Maps are the best. You can find them almost anywhere, especially in newsagents. At 3 miles to 1 inch, they are fantastic, and I've never found them to have a mistake. When driving in Britain, I always purchase one for the area in which I'll be driving--at 3mi/1" they show every little hamlet and every turn in the road.

Ordnance maps are excellent if you want minute detail. But they become difficult to handle if you're planing to drive any distance.

We were given a map when we picked up our Dan Dooley rental. We used this on our journey from Dublin to Killarney to Dingle to Doolin to Galway and to Shannon. It was easy to read. The only real problem came in the Connemara area up thru Clifden because all the signs are in Gaelic..as navigator it was a bit tricky but this added to the charm of the country side and we never got lost! Enjoy your visit, go slow and absorb all the beauty.

I've driven all over Ireland and if you want an accurate map with lots of detail, the Ordnance Survey maps are the best. You can pick one up at the Visitor's Centers. I got mine in Dublin. It works best if you have a navigator to flip to the appropriate page as you travel, but I've used it when I've been on my own. I like it MUCH better than the regular maps that the rental car agencies give you.
