I agree with the Citibank AA card. I never had a problem using it. Just book as far in advance as possible. You also get 15,000 free miles when you sign up.

I have found - for many years now - that the Frequent Flyer program of American Airlines is second to none; more often than not AA goes out of its way to accommodate me. For the same number of years I have used my Citi AAdvantage Mastercard, and have found it to also provide good service. This is a winning partnership and I highly recommend it!

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned AmEx Membership Rewards. Best I've ever found (though you could argue that AmEx is not a "credit" card). Citibank AAdvantage Visa has been good to me to use as my second choice.

Another fan of AA miles through a CitiBank card. We are lucky to be fairly flexible in our dates but we have flown to Europe for two of the last five or six years with very little if any trouble in booking. In fact, we just finalized this past Sunday a very last nimute trip to Turkey using FF mile for one ticket and paying for the other one.
You have to be your own best advocate---I think the AA people for the most part are very helpful (you can't do a multi-stop adventure on their website)but it certainly helps if you've done you're research and sort of know what you want. I think no matter which credit card you decide is best for you the mantra "charge everything; pay in full every month" should become your daily chant. Good luck. |
25,000 miles for a free $ 280 US flight in coach or 90,000 miles for a free $7500 multi destination flight to Europe in Business? No decision for me.
I understand what you're saying, Neopolitan, and it sounds good. But I have several other cards that are linked to business accounts. I've never been able to find a free multi destination European flight in business for 90,000 miles...that's a great deal. The best we've been able to do is to purchase coach seats and then spend our miles on an upgrade to business. That way I can get my wife & daughter & upgrade, too. |
