Best/Cheapest Car Rentals in Italy?
Looking for advice/sites on the best rental agencies in Italy.

Autoeurope, hands down. On the Web at www.autoeurope.com. No, I don't work for the company.

Ditto. Auto Europe is the way to go --- they're actually a broker & so, you'll probably find yourself dealing with Avis or Hertz. Had no problems when I used their services for a Tuscany road trip in May.

I agree about AutoEurope. They are brokers and I felt we got the best rate with them for our April trip to Italy as well as in England and Ireland two years ago. For an extra 5% off, link to the AutoEurope web site via the Karen Brown website at www.karenbrown.com. They placed us with Avis and the service was great, no surprises in the way of extra costs and we got a brand new car.

I definitely agree with the above responses...go with Auto Europe. We've booked two rentals (one for Tuscany and one while we're in Positano/Amalfi Coast) for our upcoming trip to Italy this July, and it was the easiest thing we've coordinated for this trip. We booked online and I followed up by calling them with my credit card and they were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. Good luck.

Well, I've had great success with car rentals in Italy with The Destination Group. I just did a quick check of AutoEurope based on these recommendations. I always rent automatic transmission cars, so that's what I did my comparison on, and I think The Destination Group has better prices. It's based in the UK and the prices are quoted in British Pounds, but the conversion is easy for comparison purposes. Their URL is www.carhire4less.co.uk. Why not give them a try and compare them with AutoEurope before you commit?
