Best chartered airlines
Hi all,
Me again :) I just wanted to know if anyone knew of the best (i.e. cheapest) airlines for inter-Europe travel. I know Ryanair is pretty good, but I will likely be studying in the south of France, so Ryanair only flies to Marrakech from Nice airport... Same thing for Vueling - they have to connect in Barcelona first. Thank you! |
The airlines you mention aren't "chartered" but rather are regularly-scheduled carriers. I think you want the description "low-cost", "no-frills", or "budget". All buzz words, of course. They are much better at offering one-way tickets. The best search site I have found is www.skyscanner.com
General advice: Be sure to read all the regulations on the airline website so you will understand the extra fees-for-service, luggage restrictions, and check-in requirements. Also Ryanair in particular has a reputation for using smaller airports that are a good distance away from the big city they supposedly serve. Buy as far ahead as you can for the lowest prices. |
A new service hipmunk.com also does a decent job on airline tickets and travel.

Have you gone on tne Nice Cote d'Azur airport website to see what airlines fly in and out of there? We flew from Paris to Nice last year very inexpensively on Air France so it doesn't have to be a budget airline. Later we flew out of Nice on Swiss Air to Zurich..

If you want to fly on a chartered jet, then you should check out JetSetter and Private Jet (ChapmanFreeborn). Great way to travel if you are part of the 1%.

"I know Ryanair is pretty good," LOL

Sep 19, 2013 - Ryanair, the low-cost airline, has the worst customer service out of Britain's 100 biggest brands, according to the readers of Which? |
A whole bunch of our friends jsut flew too and from Stansted to Brindisi with Ry***r, they all said the staff were the worst they had ever flown with and some said they had lower customer service standards than BT (a sadly incompetent phone supplier in the UK). One couple had even paid for some sort of queue jumping element and ended up at the back of the queue because R cannot even manage to deliver a simple service. The CEO thinks it might be down to his attitude! Bears in the wood sherlock.

Easyjet work out just as cheap after you factor in the Ryanair extras and offer a far better service.
