best car pickup locale in Paris?

Hi there,
Sixti car rentals offer unbeatable prices if I pick up and drop off in Paris. We're staying in the 6th arrondissement and heading north to Giverny and on to Entretat.
Can a Paris pro help me choose the best (least stressful) pick-up place for heading north? Sixti offers a La Defense spot at 80 Avenue Gambetta, one at 42 Avenue de Saxe near the Eiffel Tower as well as Paris Roissy and Paris Orly.
Thanks!

Ask about the airport pickup surcharge before you agree to an airport rental location.

I would pickup at the ave. de Saxe address, head for the périphérique, orbit west until la Porte d'Auteuil and connect to A13.

Swanny,

To go North towards Giverny, you will first head west. I suggest you pick up the car at La Defense. You can then get on the N 14 (I think)and follow it to the A 13. From there, the exit for Vernon, where you can then follow the signs across the Seine to Giverny, will be no more than a half an hour drive.

We returned from near Paris last Saturday. We found the GPS to be of great help and recommend you purchase or rent one for your travels.

Hi Swanny:

The La Defense one puts you closer but 2 things to consider:

1)The stress factor-driving around in La Defense is no picnic unless you know it pretty well.

2) It is kind of trot from the Metro when you drop and pick up the car.

On the Sixt site it also shows a Porte Maillot address:

Port Maillot
33 avenue Charles De Gaulle
92200 Neuilly Sur Seine

That one is basically right on the N13 which turns into the road to Giverney. And the metro is right there at Orte Maillot.

If that office won't work, then I would take the one in the 7th.

Surely there are more Sixt locations than that in Paris. There is one a block from my apartment, on rue Ordener.

Hi, all,

Thanks for the great advice!
Yes, Sixti has other pickup spots, but it only seems to offer the best deals out of those few locations for some reason. Otherwise, the price jumps by a hundred euros.
We'll use the savings to buy a GPS.
Cheers, and thanks again.
