Best boutique hotel in Venice?

Hi there!
My husband and i will be in Venice in August for a few days and wanted to stay in a boutique hotel that has a good location with views. A deck/balcony is a plus

Any recommendations are highly appreciated!

thanks!

We loved our stay at the Locanda Orseolo. The location was terrific and some of their rooms have canal views. The staff was very kind and helpful.I am not sure if any of their rooms have decks or balconies.

You're unlikely to get into Locanda Orseolo at this point but it's worth a try in case of cancellations.

Their sister property is more costly -- Al Ponte Antico.

A b&b that is lovely and relatively lower cost (for Venice) with some charm is Domus Orsoni, but it is definitely not boutique hotel but rather a small (5 room) b&b decorated with sumptuous mosaics, located in Cannareggio, and adjacent to a small mosaic tile operation.

The Boscolo Venezia is in a historic palace and has - unique in Venice - a beautiful garden with fountains, grottos etc. Highly recommended. It is close to a vaporetto stop and in easy walking distance to the centre.

Check the rates. We paid €158 last November.

Boutique...as in posh? Or boutique as in good value, small but no frills - like no breakfast, elevator, front desk/concierge?

My favourite hotel in Venice has views of the domes of San Marco and is almost alongside the Torre dell'Orologio - it has a terrace with tables and room for ten - and it costs 135 euro per night.

Message me if you want the name.

'Boutique...as in posh?'

Boutique is a french word meaning shop.
US took it to mean 'non chain' if I understand correctly.
Google translate gives a french translation of 'hôtel de charme'.

"Boutique" is now small but no frills? Perhaps in Outer Mongolia.

I understand that US mean a small, charming, somewhat personal hotel when they use the word "boutique" like a small shop as opposed to a department store or supermarket. Has not necessarily to with chains, but business hotels would certainly not qualify as "boutique hotels".

Thank you all for your feedback!

by boutique, i meant a small quaint (non chain/not business hotel). typically it would have a lot of charm and personal type experience.

I dislike huge chain hotels that have thousands of room. we prefer smaller establishments, almost like B&B.

traveller1959 had a perfect explanation

thanks!

What does "well-located" mean for Venice?

I can give you the name of ten hotels, but I don't know if you are willing to stay near Santa Lucia Station, the Jewish ghetto, Madonna dell'Orto.

The Boscolo Venezia near Madonna dell'Orto is a beautiful hotel, but you are far from the top tourist sites in the city (Piazza San Marco, Rialto Market, the Frari, Peggy Guggenheim, Salute).

However, this is a very quiet location away from the tourist mobs.

So, what do you want? Quiet or convenience?

@Pepper_von_snoot

By "well located" i mean in a good and convenient part of town, but outside of the crowd with a ton of people. We are young and can walk to things no issues, just want the hotel to be more quaint ! Does that even exist?
thank you.

In Dorsoduro, the American Dinesin is located on a lovely canal, some rooms have balconies. La Calcina on the Zattere also has a couple of rooms with balconies, and has views across the Giudecca canal. The Pensione Academmia has a beautiful garden which is nice for breakfast and/or afternoon drinks, I'm not sure about balconies though. They should all be within your price range.

Have tried several hotels in Venice, but this most recent one was special. Hotel Mocenigo al Ponte...walking distance to Rialto Bridge and San Marcos Square...same for one of our favorite restos...easy walk from the Vap stop (St. Stae), and on its own little canal. See Pix below and some nice shots of the city and the islands. Should fit your budget. Good sized rooms.
