Have you read the German version of that book: "Divine Secrets of the Ja-Ja Sisterhood?" :)

On my last trip to Europe, about a year ago, I enjoyed reading Bill Bryson's "Neither Here nor There: Travels in Europe" and finally got around to reading Adam Gopnik's "Paris to the Moon."

If you are headed to England,or have marvelled at any cathedral, "Pillars of the Earth," by Ken Follet. I like to pick up a used paperback or two at our library sales (50 cents each and already broken in) then leave them behind or pass them on to another traveler when I've finished.

Last month on my trip to Rome, I read "Artemisia" by Alexandra Lapierre. The beginning of the novel (it's billed as a novel in the US, and a biography in the UK, so go figure), there are pages with a mapped out area of Rome. Events in Artemisia's life had transpired near the hotel where I was staying. It was an interesting chronicle of the life of a truly exceptional woman.

BC

My next trip overseas starts around June 28. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (the 5th book in that wonderful series) comes out June 21. I have a feeling a lot of Potter-maniacs will have that one in their carry-on luggage.

This, despite the fact that, at over 700 pages, it'll probably weigh a ton!

Danna, if you liked YaYa like I did, try Sweet Hush by Deborah Smith. In a Brit chick lit vein try any of these Brit wrters: Isobell Wolffe, Jill Mansell,Jane Green, Lisa Jewell. This stuff is awfully good for "plane reading" not too hard, not too soft
