Best Beach Resort Hotels in Europe?
 

I'm looking for a romantic and affordable holiday to some beach resort in Europe - doesn't have to be an all-inclusive but ideally a nice hotel, on or near a beach, with a swimming pool. Something picturesque would be best!

I imagine the Spanish islands, the Greek Isles and/or southern Italy would be the best places to look - but I'm really open to anywhere.

First, when are you going?

Second, since you're talking romantic I assume this is for a couple - no kids. (Kids would be a whole different set of recos)

Third, what do you mean by "affordable" - in euros per night. And does that assume all meals included?

Many of the beaches in Europe will disappoint--it is not like FL or the Caribbean. The best I have found are in Greece.

Since you live in Europe --My guess is you or your friends/family have been to some of the most popular beaches/resorts or know a lot about them. What do they say?

When(?) and budget(?) are important

Some of the best beaches in Europe are on Corsica and Sardinia. Both can be very expensive.

Mallorca also has good beach sorts which are more middle market.p

Need a budget.

Eastern part of Cyprus has some beautiful beaches with hotels to match.

Halkidiki in Greece also has a number of good beaches, as does Corfu.
