Best beach/places to go in Barcelona for teenagers

Hi,
We are two couples with 4 sons ages 18-20 years old renting an apartment in Barcelona for 4 days after our Mediterranean cruise end in Barcelona. I have planned all the activities for us(2 couples) but still need recommendation for the boys. I know they will not be too happy following us around too much so it would be great to plan few things for them. All 4 are college students, well behaved(most of the time) and have already been in Europe few times with us and once on their own when travelled with their high school, however, first time in Spain. our apartment is on El Born and I understand is not that far from the beach. I appreciate all the suggestions, thanks in advance.

Another question, how close is the main soccer stadium to El Born area?
Thanks

Can't they go on the internet to more youth-oriented websites and ask themselves and make their own plans?

Hi atoosahermosa,

Glad to hear you're coming to Barcelona!

Yes you are indeed right, El Born is not far from the beach, Barceloneta. It is probably about a 25 minute walk. However for a better beach you are best taking the yellow metro line L4 to Ciutadella-Vila Olímpica and about a 5-10 minute walk from there, there are much more beautiful, less busy beaches.

The best way to get from El Born to the Camp Nou (this would be the main soccer stadium you are referring to), is to take the metro from Liceu (in the middle of las Ramblas) on the green line to Sants-Estació then change onto the blue line and take it to Collblanc, from there it is 5 minute walk. Tours of the Stadium cost about 16€ and if let me know what dates you are in town I can check to see if there are any matches on and give you the times and prices.

Perhaps your boys would be interested in some watersports. If so, check out this link.... http://www.whatbarcelona.com/barcelona-surf.html It gives the names and details of companies in the city offering different activities from surfing to scuba-diving.

Hope this helps and if you need anything more, just ask!

By "main soccer stadium," you mean where Barcelona FC plays, right? Not Estadio Olimpico de Montjuic, which is where the "other" futbol team plays (Espanyol). When are you going? The La Liga season ends 31 May, shortly after Barca may play for the European Champions League title in Rome.

And for college boys on the beach in Barcelona, I'd think they'd enjoy just about any one they go to.
