Best August destinations?

Best August destinations?

Hi,

I have to choose between a few August destinations and I can't decide. I'm flying out of Stockholm and my choices are:

1) Dublin, and a tour of Ireland
2) Croatian coast in August
3) Belgrade and Serbia
4) Bulgarian Black sea coast
5) Turkey

I arrive in the beginning of August, and I know that's prime tourist season so I guess what I'm asking is:

in August,

1) which place will be the least touristy?
2) which place has the lowest prices?
3) which place has the best TEFL market (teaching English for a couple months)
4) which place has the best combination of natural scenary, local cuisine, and friendly people.

Hi Sandy - I suspect there's a different answer to each of your Q's.

1) which place will be the least touristy?

Belgrade & Serbia

2) which place has the lowest prices?

Turkey, possibly?

3) which place has the best TEFL market (teaching English for a couple months)

Dublin (- but you'd need to be there before August to get a job IMO)

4) which place has the best combination of natural scenary, local cuisine, and friendly people.

Turkey

JMHO ...

Hi S,

>Best August destinations?

I would have said any of the Scandinavian countries.

.

The worst choice would be Belgrade : very hot, with nothing much to do.

Croatia is lovely but crowded.

Don't know Turkey and Bulgaria - probably also extremely hot.

I would go to Ireland.

You do not list Scotland but that would be my first choice. Cooler but loaded with things to do and see.

On the TEFL point - it's correct that Dublin has a good TEFL market but so does Istanbul. I don't know about TEFL in any of your other locations.
