What's the best area to stay in Dubrovnik? DUBROVNIK OLD TOWN or PLOČE or LAPAD PENINSULA?

nevermind - i got my response from reading a super old thread. i'm thinking ploce is the best.

what are you looking for? When are you going?

Old Town is full of charm... and people. You won't have a view of the water - or really anything other than maybe an empty lot next door or another window. However, it is historic and a neat place when the crowds empty out at night.

I think we'll spend time in Old Town during the day and for meals, but I like the idea of staying just outside for the beautiful views.
