Best 3 day destination outside of Paris?

I have 3 days to spend outside of Paris...

I don't drive so it will have to be train-able from Paris and then back to Charles de Gaule airport
Should be a walking city/town. Im a good walker so I dont mind hilly streets. A town that has restaurants, b&b's, shops, markets, scenic views, water?
Open to any suggestions. Thanks! And pls include accomodations recommendation if you have one.

What time of year ar eyou looking at?

Obvious option:

Nice

Strasbourg

Both have a lot to see/do either right in the city or easily reachable by local transit.

A train goes from Lyon directly to CDG if that is a requirment; otherwise, I would vote for Strasbourg, but I think that new TGV will take you to Paris rather than to CDG.

And Lyon is an interesting city with a lovely old town, and considered to be a gastronomic center of France.

A ditto for Lyon. Three days would be just right. Good restaurants, nice old town, great Gallo-Roman museum, art museum, roman ruins,etc..

I vote for Brussels/Brugge,Ghent. The Thalys goes there non-stop in about 2 hours...from Gare du Nord to Brussels. Happy Travels!

I have to vote for Lyon. It's a perfect 3-day destination. Wonderful sights, astonishingly good food, good museums, pretty place.

And Lyon has great public transportation.

Just noticed you asked for accommodation advice. We stayed at Hotel La Residence, just a block or so from Perrache station and Pl Bellecoeur. We walked to most places easily, the rooms were quite large and good reasonable breakfast.

I stayed at la Résidence also and recommend it.

Another vote for Bruges. Three days would be just right, and it is so different from Paris.
