Bernese Oberland - Activites
 

Thank you so much for all the wonderful tips and advice I have already received. Our itinerary is all planned for our trip in June, but now I am trying to plan our activities. We will be staying in Wengen for three or four nights (would love your thoughts) and here is what we plan to do: jungfrau - and dog sled rides, shilthorn and piz gloria, mannlichen hike (and other relatively easy hikes) and lauterbrunnen and trum falls. I am trying to figure out how many days to allot for Wengen to do all these activites. Can I do two in one day? Are there great things that I am forgetting? Any help with scheduling our time in Wengen would be greatly appreciated!!!

Rick Steves has a good guide book on that region--you will need all the help you can get.

Believe it or not, I already have the guide book, but yet I still feel like I can't get my fingers wrapped around the area. I really have no idea how spread apart things are and how many activities I can fit in one day. That's why I am hoping that someone who has been there can help!!!

Let me say that we LOVE Wengen.
The places are not spread out too far. From Wengen I believe (we were there some time ago) the travel time on the train to Lauterbrunnen (valley floor) was about 20 minutes. I'd suggest doing the Jungfraujoch trip the first clear morning you get. This trip took us the better part of a day from Wengen. That's all I can help with. Believe it or not, we spent 4 nights there and didn't do the other things you have listed.

I'm absolutely no help with planning a day, especially a packed day, unfortunately. But here are some sites that may help your planning (unless you've already found them).

For train schedules, departure times, duration of trips, etc, use the Swiss rail site at
