Bern overland bad weather, where should I go
Thanks to everyone for making my trip so far a huge success. I have a small problem. We are based lauterbrunnen and the weather for the Bo area is lousy for Thursday afternoon to sat.
We have the Swiss pass and we have to leave our apt by sat morn by ten am and head towards Zurich. We have booked our hotel for sat nite already.
Any suggestions for thurs and fri from lauterbrunnen?

Bern is your best bet - an nice historic town that is not a museum but a vibrant modern city despite its looks. The best thing about it for you in bad weather: The arcades that flank the inner-city streets. Take a look here - the text is in German, the pictures are in English ;-)

There are shops galore, watch your credit card, it will be jumping up and down in your pocket. Good restaurants, museums, the Federal Government's parliament building, a cathedral - just walk up and down the old arcades, you don't get wet.
Check out www.bern-incoming.ch/en/index.cfm
Trains are at www.rail.ch
Another solution, if you don't mind a bit of a trainride to escape, is the train to Stresa on the Lago Maggiore on the south side of the Alps. It may rain intermittently a little bit on Friday, mostly sunny, and hardly any chance of rain on Saturday.
A lovely place, with those islands offshore that you can look up here:
www.stresa.org/eng/isole/isola_madre.html
Leave early, the 7:03 from Lauterbrunnen, with a quick change in Interlaken Ost and another In Spiez, gets you to Stresa at 9:38.
You need to come back with the 19:21 from Stresa, that gets you to Lauterbrunnen at 22:21.
You could go to Lucerne instead, but there you are exposed to the weather, and- worse - the low hanging clouds won't let you see the views it is otherwise famous for.

Here's another thought: Would you like to go see how Swiss cheese and chocolate are made?

It's a heck of an awkward trip by train and bus, but if you can find wheels it's an easy drive, from Lauterbrunnen via Spiez and Boltigen, no more than 90 minutes.
Maybe make a phone call down to interlaken and reserve some wheels there?

We have done Lausanne and lucern and Bo so far.
Stress looks a stretch, but maybe Bern is worth atry. Any other suggestions within 1.5 hrs. Am afraid of driving her, only driven in the us.
Any places which have playgrounds or good zoos for my 4 ur old ? This is just a Thought not a necessity.

Bern is an excellent bad weather suggestion.
In addition to what has already been mentioned: They have the new bear park on the bank of the Aare river and their bear lady has two cubs this year! http://www.baerenpark-bern.ch/index.php?id=info&L=0

Yep, the new bear place is for your little one, and the Tierpark Dählhölzli, a modest but very nice zoo just up the river Aare a bit - if it doesn't rain you can walk it.
Bus 19 from the central station, or board it from points en route to the Tierpark.
