Walking back from the Klee, you could make a detour to the Rosengarten. There's a restaurant there. Our timing was wrong for a meal, so we just had tea/coffee and enjoyed the view.

Thanks Jean:
I will be travelling Oct 5-14.
Have been to the Rosengarten a few times already, so if serendipity allows....the view ARE great!
WT:
I'll watch out if you add a post with directions....
Is the town of Bern obvious (as a target to walk toward?)

I thougt you wouldn't like to travel more than 1 hr because you wrote that Broc was too far away.

The old town of Biel/Bienne is tiny, but it's a gem. The historic part of Neuchatel is not much bigger, but completely different (with castle and cathedral). Fribourg is rather similar to Berne (both were built by the same guy: Berchtold of Zaehringen (who built also Freiburg im Breisgau, BTW).

Paul Klee Musseum - Baerengraben: there is a signmarked path coming from Deisswil - Ostermundigenberg and going up to Baerengraben. After having left the Paul Klee Center, just cross the motorway on 1 of the 2 briges and go then down in a kind of tiny Valley. Cross the Laubeggstrasse and continue up to Lake Egelsee. At the other end of the (tiny) Lake, you will arrive at Muristrasse, turn to the right and go down the Kleiner Muristalden lane.

The walk to Rosengarten is short and easy too, but mostly along roads with much traffic: Schosshaldenstrasse - Salvisbergstrasse - Weissweg - Hostettlenweg - Bitziusstrasse - Ostermundigenstrasse.

don't miss the Kornhauskeller. It's a beautiful restaurant in the old town of Bern.

I think I would feel uncomfortable there in the evening as a solo, but have already considered it for breakfast or lunch....
