Berlin zoo or tiergarten?

I 'm going to Berlin early April and a visit at Berlin's zoo is top at my list. But I found out that there is also the tiergarten nearby with wild animals. I cannot afford seeing both.., so which one do you recommend? My priority is to see wild animals (elephants, lions, tigers and definitely pandas). Thanks!

Isn't the zoo in the Tiergarten?

The zoo has the Giant Panda(s) according to their website.

I think the OP means the Tierpark in East Berlin:

No, as I've seen they are two different places, with two different entrance tickets. Anyone knows for sure?

When you want to see the Pandas, you need to go to the Zoo in central West Berlin, not the Tierpark in East Berlin.

To make it a bit more confusing:
The Tiergarten is the 500+ acres central park of Berlin - which had been a royal "deer park" until 1800something.
Today, the only place you find wild animals in the Tiergarten is in the Zoo, which is simply the SW part of the park.

The Tierpark is the other zoological garden in the Eastern part of Berlin which did not exist until Berlin got divided and the folks in the East started their own zoo.
