Berlin Travelogue
For those who enjoy reading travelogues I've almost finished mine from a recent trip to Berlin.
What a great city! _____________________________________________ http://www.bangor.ac.uk/~fos007/travel.htm |
Yes, it is indeed a great city.
And a fine travelogue you have going there. I'll be interested to read the final chapter when you've completed it. Fritzrl |
Thanks Fritzrl!
I'll keep you posted. |
Great travelogue!!!
Incidentally, if you're into cemeteries, Berlin does boast the largest (by some counts) Jewish cemetery in Europe. It's a little out of the way, in the Weissensee district, but well worth it. Lots of tombs, mausleums, and overgrown graves, with lost of German personalities buried there. Interesting to observe that there were deaths up until about 1940, then nothing. And then lots of new graves (1990 deaths onwards), with many Russian names... |
Thanks for the tip chtiet.
I am one of those odd balls who actually find cemeteries fascinating. Many are comparable to great works of art, they can stir your emotions. They make you reflect on death, which makes you concentrate more on living your life! Next visit to Berlin I'll make my way to the Weissensee cemetery. Thanks! ____________________________________ http://www.bangor.ac.uk/~fos007/travel.htm |
