Villefranche to Nice airport help please!!

i'm leaving Villefranche for Nice airport early tomorrow a.m. I'm taking the 81 bus and I thought I had to transfer to 98 at Garibaldi. People leaving this hotel this a.m. said I need to transfer at Nice Port. Can I take the 98 there or is it another bus? i can't lug my suitcase down all the steps to the train station in V/F and I'm afraid the strike might resume. if I need to go to Garibaldi where is the stop for the 98? Please help if you can.

I don't know the exact bus numbers you should take, perhaps the hotel front desk is a good resource.

Maybe not too late to look at a shuttle:

Look on tripadvisor.com, where you'll find detailed information on the bus schedule.

ok. I looked at Trip Advisor and it looks like there is a 98 stop at the port. Thanks Underhill. Now I hope I can get on the 81 as it will be full with passengers who would normally take the train.

Not to freak you out but we were in Villefranche in 2012 during a rail strike. It was late afternoon and we were trying to get back to Nice. MANY buses passed us by, they would not even stop. They were full. Eventually one finally did stop and we squeezed on.

Plan for this. It may not be as easy as just going to bus stop and getting on a bus.

The very same happened to us a few days ago DevitNM. that's why I was so nervous about getting to the airport. But it was fine. Took no. 100 to Nice port and from there 98 to airport. So lucky as they really filled up after we got on. We are now at Montreal airport where we have missed our flight to Ottawa. Not so bad. One hour wait.
