Berlin-Prague-Vienna
 

I'm contemplating a trip into Berlin-train to Prague-train to Vienna. Preliminary investigation Berlin is expensive to fly in to. Would arrival in Paris - train to Berlin be a better option. Just a thought. Thanks for replies and as I said, jus batting this around.

Well since you don;t tell us where you're coming from there's no way for us to tell what airport would be what price. Have you looked at kayak and the other air sites to check options? And I assume you ate looking at open jaws (multi-city or multi-destination) into Berlin and out of Vienna.

A low cost airline from Paris to Berlin might be cheaper than the train.

You could also try flying into Frankfurt or Munich to see if that would be cheaper, and then find a low cost airline to gt to Berlin.

I might add that you can reduce the cost if arriving in whichever city in the morning by continuing your trip to Berlin on the same day. An overnight would probably cancel all savings.

I flew Berlin- Paris on Air Berlin for about 50 euros this summer.
Same Munich- Berlin last year.
