Berlin hotels

Going to Berlin for 4 nights to visit the Christmas markets and revisit some museums. I was there last about 10 years ago and we stayed at the Westin Grande which I thought was a decent hotel in a good location. Have gotten a good deal through AMX at the Ritz Carlton which I recall is near the Sony centre but otherwise do not remember much about the area.
Any recommendations or thoughts about Berlin hotels?

One year ago, I had the chance to visit Berlin, and it quickly became one of my favorite trips, especially during the holidays. The Christmas markets were magical. Gendarmenmarkt was my top spot for enjoying mulled wine and bratwurst under twinkling lights.

I stayed near Potsdamer Platz, and it turned out to be a fantastic location. Even though I didn’t stay at the Ritz-Carlton, I passed by it and couldn’t help but admire its prime spot. The area was perfect for exploring—just a short walk to the Brandenburg Gate and Tiergarten, with the lively Sony Center offering plenty of dining options nearby.

One thing that made my trip even better was using Travelarii. It helped me find a great hotel at an affordable price, making my stay stress-free and enjoyable. For a truly memorable experience, I suggest staying near Potsdamer Platz or the Brandenburg Gate. It's central, vibrant, and perfect for easy access to Berlin’s top attractions.

We just got home from a week in Berlin. We stayed with friends in a 2-bedroom apt at the Hotel Adina, very near the Fernsehturm (TV Tower) and Alexanderplatz. It is two blocks from the Jewish Quarter and has excellent transport connections.

Very friendly front desk. Their breakfast, which costs extra, will last you all day.

That Adina is excellent. Stayed there 2 times. It' s incredibly well located, because you' ve got Prenzlauer Berg to the east and have easy access to the Alexanderplatz area. Plus very good S bahn lines at the Hackescher Markt station

I stayed at the HIlton on Gendarmenmarkt a few years ago and that was a perfect location to me. ON that market square, near a Ubahn stop but walkable to the park, near restaurants and shops, etc. And not as far out as Plotzdamer Plotz. I walked up to Unter den Linden to get buses to/from the island museums and stuff in that direction. Yes, it's a modern chain hotel but I don't care about that, when I travel I want comfort, and a great location. This hotel was pretty nice. I'd rather stay there than near the Sony Centre, but that location isn't bad.

I haven’t stayed at Hilton, but agree - it is a great location.
I stayed a bit further, neat the river, at Melia …just across from the train station.
Rooms at the back are quiet. I liked the hotel…but it was ten years ago.

Why would you want to stay near the Sony Center?
