Berlin Hotel Splurge
I'm going to be in Berlin for one night, end of November, and would like to splurge on a super luxury hotel. Any suggestions!

I think the Adlon Hotel in Unter den Linden is supposed to be the grandest.
Never stayed there - too expensive I think it is the hotel where Michael jackson dangled his baby from the balcony |
I'd also say the Adlon is probably the most famous of the top-end hotels.
It is the place where the Jacko baby-dangling incident occurred and is the first choice hotel for many celebrities while they are in Berlin. |
ritzcarlton.com is another option.

The Adlon indeed is the most renowned place. Classic Grand Hotel with all the amenities you'd expect.
It is managed by Kempinski, so check their website. No.2 would be a toss up between the Regent (formerly known as the Four Seasons) on Gendarmenmarkt and the Grand Hyatt on Potsdamer Platz. The Regent is also a Grand Hotel and very classic in its layout (and a bit over the top IMHO). There is no pool herer, if that's of importance. The Grand Hyatt has been voted Germany's best design hotel for consecutive years and has just received honours to be the best Hyatt property worldwide. It is modern, yet warm in atmosphere, offers a gorgeous rooftop spa and pool and gracious service. It's my favourite hotel in Berlin and I would book it in an instance. The Ritz Carlton is across the street from the Hyatt and is pretty new (about 1.5 years of operation, I should think). Personally, I don't think it is as good as the Hyatt or the Adlon, but maybe that's just me. |
Thanks everyone. I'm leaning toward the Adlon. They've quoted me an amazingly good rate of €230,00 per night.
