Berlin Hotel

I am trying to decide between the Radisson and the Ku Damm 101. I would like to be central to bars and restaurants, I know that Ku Damm 101 is but can anyone advise about the location of the Radisson. I'm not really interested in being close to shopping areas.
Thanks for your help.Aologies for posting this twice but I forgot to classify as the Germany sector.

I don't know the hotels you are looking at but I wouldn't worry too much about being close to bars particularly.

The particular areas that are best for bars are spread over the city and if you are near one area you may not be near another. The areas we explored in the evenings were mainly Friedrichsain and the area near Oranienburgerstr (apologies if the spelling is wrong, I'm guessing a bit!)

I was pleased that my hotel was generally central (in quite a spread out city) and the U-Bahn and S-Bahn are excellent for getting around that location becomes less of an issue provided you are near good transportation options.

Not exactly sure where the Ku'damm 101 is, but I would imagine at 101 Ku'damm (go figure...), which is in the middle of and close to tons of bars and restaurants in the Charlottenburg district. The SAS Radisson, on the other hand, is near the cathedral, museums, etc., and a bit farther away from nightlife. That said though, Berlin has great transpo that will get you anywhere anytime. One advantage of the Radisson is that it is a brand new building.

Since you have't exactly specified what type of bars/nightlife then I would agree that given Berlin's absolutely excellent public transport system you shouldn;t have any trouble no matter which hotel you choose.
Not "into" shopping? Regardless, you should at least stop in at the Ka-De-We..the food hall is absolutely legendary and given that this is the largest department store in Europe I think you might find it interesting.

Thanks for your help everyone. I have gone for the Radisson and I will be sure to visit Ka-De-We, it sounds great.

Ask for a room with a view of the multi-story aquarium which takes up most of the lobby!

There are tons of bars with nightlife close to the Radisson in the streets around Hackescher Markt, too.
Also, Gendarmenmarkt with its acclaimed Newton Bar is not too distant, either.
