Berlin atlas?
I'm looking for a Berlin pocket street atlas. Does anyone know who makes one?
We just received what we thought was an atlas that we ordered through Amazon, but it's an actual map pasted into a cover with a separate street index. That's no good to us. We like having a comprehensive atlas of a city, preferably in a pocket size. We already have one for Paris, Budapest, Barcelona and Amsterdam, so we thought it would be easy to find one for Berlin. Any suggestions would be welcome. I suppose that if we can't find one before we leave in a month, we'll just get one there. |

I use the free pocket map from the tourist office when I'm there so never bought one. At home I use a free but detailed interactive map:

Thank you, but I'm really looking for recommendations on a pocket city atlas, such as this one for Paris:

You might check out the "Eyewitness Travel Guide" for Berlin. It's heavy, and maybe has too many pretty photos, but it does offer detailed maps of most Berlin districts/neighborhoods.

Thank you, fritzrl. I've seen those guides, but I'm not familiar with them.

As a general rule, you will probably get a wider range of more up-to-date maps, guides and atlases, and cheaper, in the place concerned, especially if you're looking for a complete atlas of the whole city, such as a local might need.

Thanks Patrick. It's surprising that we can't find a Berlin atlas here in Montreal because we've found pocket-sized city atlases for Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris and Budapest in the past. I guess it depends on the store.
We've decided to have a look once we're in Berlin, but we might just use the maps in the guidebook. |
