Berlin

We are staying near Savignyplatz and wonder if anyone knows of an outdoor produce market that is nearby. We love shopping at those and cooking up good stuff in our apartment!
Also, does anyone happen to know if there is a coin operated (not a phone card please) public phone at Tegel? We need to call the manager of the apartment we are renting when we are about to leave so she knows when meet us there. I guess we are cheap but it just goes against the grain to spend 5Euros - or more (I'm guessing here) for one call. We have a phone for local calls in the apt. and will be leaving Germany immediately after our week there, hence, a pretty much wasted phone card.

From this link, it looks like Tegel does:

Tegel is a good-sized international airport, so I'd be shocked if it had no payphones, although I wasn't looking when I was there.

Coin-operated public phone? I have never seen it in Berlin (or anywhere in Germany). You can buy a phone card at the post office in Tegel airport. Check Tegel HP.

Winterfeldtmarkt will be the best option for you. Rather close to Savignyplatz.

Be sure to visit the Food Halls in KaDeWe (albeit pricey)!

the market at winterfeldtplatz is only on wednesday (morning) and saturday. it's fantastic. if you really love markets don't miss the turkish market at maybachufer in kreuzberg, on friday and tuesday. another good market at kollwitzplatz in prenzlauer berg on a saturday.
