Hi Val,

Is there a reason for staying in Bergerac at all?

It's not a usual destination.

I actually enjoy Bergerac. They have a great Brocante Market once a month there and the town is both lovely and hospitable. But I can't comment on those two hotels. Sorry.

That being said, we generally spend the night elsewhere that is super romantic, like Beynac
(Hotel du Chateau or Hotel Belle Etoile) where the colorful hot air balloons parade over La Dordogne and the castle nightly.

I'll second IRA's thoughts. Either head west to St Emilion, or east to the Sarlat area - I prefer the latter.

Bergerac's OK (sorry, don't know any hotels there) - just hope you're not thinking of using it as a base for a visit to the Dordogne.

Why're you planning to stay in Bergerac, Val?
