Bergen Tour.Any suggestion pls.

Hi All,
I am planning to travel to Bergen for a three day trip.
Day 1 - Reaching Bergen airport at 10.00 AM .Plan for the day to be decided.
Day 2 - Booked a stay at Gudvangen from 17.00 hrs.Plan for the day to be decided.
Day 3- Plan for the day to be decided.
Day 4- Flight to catch at Bergen airport at 8.00 AM

My plans during this trip are to cover
1) Fjords 2)Speed Boat 3)Cruise 4) some Shopping 5) Flam train journey 6) Cable car.

Given this ,I would like your suggestions on where would it be a good place to stay ,how to accommodate a Nutshell tour and other attractions in this schedule.
Are there any Fjord trips ,Speed boat tours which start during the afternoon?

Appreciate your suggestions!.

Best Regards.

If you can cancel Gudvangen then do that and stay in Flåm, that's where all the activities are. Gudvangen is a ferry dock, a petrol station and an hotel. Flåm is unfortunately overcrowded with cruise tourists in summer, but will be OK in the evening, and has a choice of hotels and restaurants.
So day 1 - cable car in Bergen, see Bergen
day 2 - train to Voss, bus to Gudvangen and ferry through Nærøyfjord to Flåm.
day 3 - your activities? No shopping except for souvenir shops in Flåm. Take Flåm rail to Myrdal and train to Bergen.
Get the Norway in a Nutshell pass at the tourist office on day 1 which will cover all this transport.

Thanks Dyoll.

I have now shifted my stay to Flam for Day-2 .Thanks for your suggestion and I find it more flexible to plan it from Flam, though the accommodations are bit costlier than Gudvangen.
My Revised schedule is as below....could you kindly help checking if its achievable.

Day1
----
Bergen city hop on hop off and cable car.
Can you Suggest any nice place for a dinner?

Day2
----
NIN start at 08.40 and reach Flam at 14.10.
Thinking of a Stegastein Viewpoint trip at 16.00 hrs after checking in the hotel.Possible ?

Day3
-----
Catch the 6.00 AM Speedboat from Flam to Balestrand and return to Flam by 10.30.

Continue NIN trip from Falm by 16.05 train to Myrdal.
Myrdal to Bergen by 20.00 hrs..
thinking of proceeding to airport hotel to catch next morning flight.would that be an ok idea?

Thanks and have a nice evening!!

Bergen is one of our favorite European cities. Possible activites/places: Hanseatic Museum, folklore concert, shops along Bryggen, Mariakirken-oldest church, strolling/snacking in fish market, Fjord trip on White Lady, possible concert at Korskirken or other, Grieghallen and lovely park area, Oygarden fishing village/offshore rigs, Ole Bull House on Lysoen island (artist influential to Ibsen & Griegg).

Beware of trolls!

Added comment: certainly the Gudvangen, Flam etc. areas are beautiful including the fjords. But as a destination? This is connected with the the Nutshell transport Oslo-Bergen. That itself is quite lovely journey including scenery, fjord launch, etc. But you aren't coming from Oslo?

Hi,
I am coming from CPH to Bergen and would land there at 9.40 hrs in the morning on day1.

We would like to spend day-1 in bergen and take a NIN on day-2 to make a stopover at flam for the night.

I think we can include a Fjord trip on white lady departing at 13.00 hrs as its helps to spend as much time as possible in fjords.Grieghallen, shops along Bryggen, Mariakirken-oldest church, strolling/snacking in fish market can be clubbed together for the evening.

Thanks so much, you suggested me various options for day-1.

Not sure I would bother to get up at 06:00 for an express ferry trip to Balestrand and straight back. You'll have had the best fjord scenery on the Nærøyfjord ferry from Gudvangen to Flåm.
I'd catch an earlier connection to Bergen, arriving 20:00 might be difficult to find a good place to eat.
I'm not a fan of airport hotels - stay in Bergen, drop the luggage, have a pleasant evening in restaurant/bar and straight to bed. Taxi in morning to airport. You won't have to get up much earlier.
