Bergen to Flam to Oslo?

We will be in Bergen for 1 day/night then hope to do the Norway in a Nutshell stopping in Flam? for 1 night then going on to Oslo the next day.
Do we buy the tour and if we do can we make the break in Flam, Voss or Myrdal for our overnjght accommodation?
Which town is our best option?
Thanks for any info

NIN is simply a package of public transportation option. I believe that you can stop overnight at any of the stops.

You can easily purchase the various tickets ( rail, bus, ferry ) on your own. I stayed at the Fretheim in Flam. It's away from the touristy part. Lovely and quiet. There is nothing at Myrdal except for the train station.

From Oslo to Myrdal we needed a reservation, but not for the other legs of the trip. I do not know if the reverse trip requires a reservation.

The train journey Myrdal to Oslo is much cheaper if booked in advance - look out for limited minipris tickets available from 90 days in advance - https://www.nsb.no/en/
Note that you can book Flåm - Oslo, saving you queuing for tickets in Flåm.

Unless the print your own pdf ticket system is working you may have to pick up those booked rail tickets at Bergen station.
