bergen or copenhagen??
Hi all, will be touring scandinavia this summer and will have one day to spend in bergen and one day in copenhagen. Depending on what flight we take from bergen to copenhagen, we can spend a half day more in one of the two cities. Any suggestions on which one would warrant the extra time. thanks.

i think most people on this forum will say it's too short of a trip for one city much less two.

I haven't been to Bergen, but I have been to Copenhagen and it's one of my favourite cities. I would recommend the extra half day in Copenhagen. There are enough interesting sights to see, and walks around the town to keep you busy for a day and a half.

Trying to compare Copenhagen to Bergen is difficult. Copenhagen is one of the greatest cities in Europe, charming, beautiful and now very cosmipolitan. Bergen is much smaller. I have been to both cities, and I vote Copenhagen hands down!

i have seen some parts of a city in four hours
i walk fast and do my research so as far as not having any time ( it really depends on you needs) then id say its better to see something rather than nothing id choose bergen because thats what we have chosen for our trip in 2009 at first i really wanted to see copenhagen which apparently is compact but everything is steering me towards bergen and if youre lucky with time tables you can do a norway in a nutshell - a long day from 6 am to 10 pm but there might be ways round that id like to see copenhagen only for the fact that our own mary has married the danish prince and its always newsworthy over here but if i dont get to do it i wont be disappointed |
Do you have to split the time like that. IMHO Copenhagen is worth at least 3 or 4 days to se the basics and 1 day trip. (Bergen is cute - but a day there is enough.)
