Bergen/ Europe in July

hi, we (couple - age 46) are planning to visit Bergen (there is a direct flight from Paris) around 15th July for 3-4 days. is July ok for bergen ? we have been to Oslo. We travel to Paris on a work trip around 10th July. wanted to take a break for 4-5 days in Europe. we are not fond of hot / warm weather. Hence Norway instead of French Riviera / Amalfi etc..
Any suggestions of cool weather places is welcome.
please advise .
Thank you

Bergen is a good choice for July cool. Long days then and sweaters at night. I also liked Helsinki at the same time.

Copenhagen is a neat place for 4-5 days too -much more to do than 4-5 days in Bergen of course unless interested more in senery. If inton Bergen be sure to do the Norway In a Nutshell extravaganze -can do on own by train, mountain bus, boat and train back to Bergen all in one day. For lots on that check www.seat61.com; BETS-European Rail Experts and www.ricksteves.com. You may want to take the Oslo-Bergen Railway to Oslo and fly out from there - one of most most beautiful railways in Europe.

Yes, Bergen is lovely in July. With that much time be sure to visit the fjords...magnificent scenery!
