Bergamo to MXP
We're thinking about spending our last night before flying back to the US in Bergamo. About how long of a drive is it from Bergamo to MXP? Our flight is at 10:30 am on a Tuesday in the Spring.
Are there any options for taking a train or bus from Bergamo to MXP? thanks |
You can look at Viamichelin or Mappy to get an idea of drive time.
Your path will be across northern Milan at morning rush hour so allow extra time. The Train from Bergamo goes to Milan Centrale takes either 50 minutes or 70 Minutes. Then you take a bus fron centrale to MXP. Bergamo has its own airport (Orio serio) and is reasonably well served by some of the intra-Europe discount airlines. |
Be careful!!!
You have to be at Malpensa at 9 am. From Bergamo to MXP you have to go to Milano first (no direct / fast / easy connection between Bergamo to Malpensa) and the traffic starts to be a nightmare at 6,30 in the morning. You should live Bergamo at 6 am. Ciao. Gianni (Milan, Italy) |
Thanks so much -- that is what we needed to know whether the traffic would be bad and sounds like it might. Train and bus sound like it would take too much time also, so I think we might skip staying there the night b4 we leave.

How can I get from MXP Airport to Bergamo using public transportation?
|
I think that one way is to change trains in Lecco.
The commuter system for metro Milan is the ATM. The Malpensa website probably has a link for it. There probably is shuttle bus MXP to Orio Serio (Bergamo's airport). Good luck. |
Thanks

Hi Red - Lecco is not on the train route between MXP and Bergamo.
Hi Allae - The best way between MXP and Bergamo is normally via Milan. There is a frequent shuttle bus service from Malpensa to Milano Centrale: http://www.malpensashuttle.it/e-default.htm For train timetables from Milano Centrale to Bergamo go to: www.trenitalia.it/en/index.html Alternatively for Bergamo Airport (- Orio al Serio) there are half-hourly shuttle-bus departures from Milano Centrale. Two shuttle-bus companies operate this route. Here are the links: http://orioshuttle.com/?a=&arg=&l=e http://autostradale.it/interna.aspx?...=60&sot=2&ae=2 Hope this helps ... Steve |
One option is train (trenitalia) to Milano Centrale -> subway to Milano Cadorna -> Malpensa Express train.
Alternatively there is a bus from Milano Centrale. Make sure you take the bus no later than 8:00. |
never mind, I didn't check the date!
