Your decision, of course, Ben... but I think that if you change your e-mail address on your profile... and display it on the forum, it will show up for ANY old post (since registration began), even though they would list the btinternet address earlier. Now conversely, I believe it would not change the btinternet address which is "embedded" in your posts, pre-registration.
This is an oddity of the search function that few people know about, I suspect. If anyone chose to display a "real" e-mail address in the pre-registration days (as I did, 99% of the time, and I think you did too), - - you were required to display SOMEthing, though [email protected] would work - - then that "word" is still "there" and searchable. Thus all of my old posts can be located by searching "rbmd", and yours (or anyone who used an e-mail address containing "btinternet") can also. Of course, you always used your full name, and there have been no other Haines here, as far as I know.
To see more clearly what I mean, take a look at http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgTopic...&start=500 - - these are essentially posts from you (pre-registration), that do not SHOW your e-mail address - - but it is "there" (and searchable)... just hidden from view.
Best wishes,
Rex
