Bellevue House, Florence
Has anyone stayed at Bellevue House in Florence? I could not find any reviews here, but it was positively mentioned by someone at Rick Steves Graffiti Board. I will be in Florence 3 nights (June 29-July 2).
110 Euro, Twin beds, Bathroom, Air Conditioning, Refrigerator
Can I do better?

I'm not familiar with this hotel, but it looks awfully nice for the rate and ammenities on these websites (love those fireplaces!): http://www.italyhotelink.com/italy/tuscany/florence/bellevne/

http://florence.italy.allwebhotels.com/hotel.phtml/4861/intl/en

Via della Scalla is a fairly busy street, but less so than some of the other streets near the station with lots of budget hotels. Since this place is on the top floor, it should not be too noisy.

If you stay there, please post a report when you return!

Here is the hotel's own web site:
http://www.residencebellevue.it/inglese/about.asp

I've found some (mostly positive) feedback on this place on both venere.com and tripadvisor, but am "topping" this thread in case anyone here has stayed there. Am considering it for an upcoming trip in May.

Hi! We stayed in Bellevue House last week and found it to be clean and convenient. The beds were very comfortable. Would stay there again. What you need to be aware of is that there is no front desk, no telephones, and no one "in attendance" at night. The owner lives two floors down and gives you all the keys you need to get in but if you are trying to meet someone, if is quite difficult. It is up something like 68 stairs...
