Bellagio to Paris - any suggested scenic routes?

Looking for some help with my itinerary for July 2012. I will have travelled through Italy finishing up with 2 nights in Milan followed by 2 nights in Bellagio. I need to be in Paris 2 days later. I could return to Milan and then fly direct from Milan to Paris (seems better option than train) but was thinking there may be a more "scenic" route. I will be relying on public transport. Would like to see more of the italian lakes on the way to Paris but seems that would be hard without a car.

Is there anywhere I could easily get to from Bellagio without having to go back to Milan that would also be an interesting stop en route to Paris? Happy to combine train and plane and would be keen to find a way to get to Paris easily without having to go back through Milan.
Any input would be appreciated.

more scenic by far for me

ferry Meniaggio 5 min shuttle Lugano 30 min Chur Zurich Paris

seat61.com/switzerland trains super nice not too cheap.

easyjet.com if in a hurry MXP to CDG 30 euro in the past

Booked way in advance.... have fun!

On the way to Paris the only logical Italian lake to see (excluding Lake Lugano which is also known as Lake Ceresio - part in Switzerland and part in Italy) is Lake Maggiore but realistically this would mean travelling back to Milan and taking the train to Stresa which would give you a chance to see the Borromean Islands. Then from Stresa you could catch a train to Geneva - seeing the whole of Lc Leman or Lake Geneva - connecting with a fast TGV train to Paris.

Alternatively travel as suggested above to Lugano - Swiss postal bus from Menaggio to Lugano. Howwever, if lakes are your preference I would suggest travelling from Lugano to Lucerne - one of the most beautiful towns and lakes on Switzerland - and then on to Basel and on to Paris.

Bus to Lugano and spend time in Luzern---as Nochblad says.

Forgot to say - from Stresa you can take a train to Domodossola where you can connect with the TGV from Milan to Paris which avoids changing at Geneva
