Bellagio to malpensa
 

Hi fodors

Please help...can you advise on how to get from Bellagio to Malpensa, no rush to get there as check in is at 14.00, early April

One, and not THE only, way: ferry to Varenna; (walk uphill ten minutes to the) train to Milan; taxi or bus to the airport.

Am sure others will comment.

Another way, since you have a lot of time and if you'd like to spend more time on the lake, is to take a ferry or hydrofoil from Bellagio to Como, then get a bus from Como to Milan. I think there are buses that go directly between Como and Malpensa, but I'm not positive. If you Google, you can find out. Otherwise, you'd take a train or bus from Como to Milan Centrale, then get the airport bus or taxi to Malpensa.

If money is not an issue, hire a driver for about $100.00. We did this in September and it made the day so simple. We were able to enjoy the morning in Bellagio and our driver was on time to pick us up at 2:00 PM. Our hotel, (Florence) arranged it for us. Enjoy Bellagio!

I agree with Ralstonlan for ease and comfort.

Another option is ferry or hydrofoil to Como, train to Soronno, transfer to train to Malpensa. The transfer in Soronno is usually about 10 minutes and just involves walking through an underpass from one track to another. The stop at Malpensa is inside the airport a short, enclosed walkway from the check-in area.

There is also bus service from Como to Malpensa, but I find the train more comfortable.

I just want to ask about driver l was under the impression it was about Euro 165, are you sure it was USD 100

You could ask your hotel (in Bellagio?) this question, but I would guess it is closer to 165 euros than $100.
