Bellagio - La Pergola
 

I am looking forward to a romantic interlude in Bellagio during a two week family visit in June. Has anyone spent their time in Bellagio at a pensione called La Pergola?

Haven't spent time at La Pergola, but have been to Bellagio, it's wonderful. June is a great time, the weather is not too hot yet. I wish you a great trip. <BR>

<BR>We have a reservation there for the end of June. The pictures look great and it camr highly recommended.

Laura, I quizzed my sister on this one as she lives in Bellagio but she didn't know anything about La Pergola. <BR> <BR>She does, though, echo the sentiments of the other posters in saying what a beautiful place Bellagio is.

my husband and I spent 5 days in Bellagio last July. It is a wonderfully romantic place. We didn't stay in La Pergola but we did go there for a lovely meal. It is about a five minute walk (up and down a steep hill!) from Bellagio itself but it is in a quiet village with superb views. The food and service were excellent so I am sure it will be a pleasure to stay in.

Better late than never...we very much enjoyed out time at La Pergola. While we had originally reserved a very small lake view room, we ended up in a large beautiful room with a terrace. A quick look at several rooms suggested that the size and styles varied widely, so definitely ask for a detailed description before you choose. Ours was furnished with some great antique furniture and had a wooden beamed ceiling. The restaurant was also nice, particularly in the morning. You can dine outside right on the lake under... surprise...a pergola. It is worth noting that the pensione is on the other side of the penisula from Bellagio in a small fishing village...a 5-10 minute walk up a very steep hill from. If you arrive by ferry with more than one piece of luggage take a taxi. Otherwise the walk is fine...a good way to work of some of the dinners in town. One last note...the price was right. The original small room which we reserved was about $60-70/per night...the large room was may $100-120 including breakfast.
