Belgrade, Serbia

I received few recommendations from my friends to visit Belgrade, Serbia. It is a large city with great historic heritage and wild nightlife. It is also close to Novi Sad (another interesting city) and Devil's Town (wonderful rock formation). Did somebody visit this city or country and what are your impressions?

Belgrade is a beautiful city. Your friend was right in that it has a lot of history and amazing nightlife. The fortress Kalamegdan, is particularly interesting for history lovers, while the pedestrian street Knez Mihajlo is a wonderful mix of cafes with outdoor seating, shops and street vendors leading to a beautiful park. Novi Sad is also supposed to be beautiful. I have never been there, but I have many friends who have been and they enjoyed the trip immensely. If your dates are flexible, I would consider going to Novi Sad for the annual music festival, EXIT. It is famous throughout Europe.
