Belgium and a Canadian Debit card

I am heading to belgium in about 2 and half weeks. I am wondering has anyone had any issues using their Canadian debit card over there? It has a chip and has the plus logo on the back of it.

Just a side note: In Brussels, the metro train station would not accept US Mastercard credit cards. Only Visa. I know that doesn't answer your question but I thought I'd slip that piece of information in for others.
Happy Travels!

Do you mean ATM card or Credit Card?
I used my CIBC VISA chip card in the UK not long ago and it worked fine.

You would not want to be using your CC to withdraw cash :)

You should have no problem - I use my CDN chip and pin from TD bank all over Europe (and my UK one in Canada). Mine has a Visa symbol on it.

A CDN debit card is not a credit card - it gives you access to your chequing and savings accounts.

Just not that you wont be asked to select chequing or savings - it will just take the money out of your chequing account so make sure thats where you have your money. It wont take money out of a savings account.
