As I said, I just saw them in Lisbon last month, and indeed, they piped...and once before when I chatted with them (I believe it was Stockholm) and when asked, they said they came from towns and villages in both the Ecuadorian and Peruvian Andes....in and around Valldolid and Jaeh (could be they're truly from Brooklyn...but who cares...nice melody and fun to observe).
