Bed and Breakfast in Venice

Has anyone ever stayed at a bed & breakfast called Ai Tagliapietra in Venice ? It was rated highly on Trip Advisor and appears to be a good location for the price. Trying to find good lodging in Venice for last week of September. I like the appeal of being close to main attractions without the formality of a large hotel.

Hi!
I've never been there (yet - i'm going this month!!!!) but my parents and one of my co-workers have. They all agreed it was a great place. Very, very clean, nice breakfast and a very attentive owner who meets you at the vaporetto stop and can recommend places to eat, visit... I've emailed him several times regarding my parents' and my own visit, and he's always been very kind. The situation of the bed and breakfast is also great, they said. According to them, you can't ask any more for the price.

Yup, we stayed there last year in May. It was a great location - off the beaten track, 5 mins from st marks, quiet, and a good breakfast. We would definitely stay there again.

Thanks ! I booked it for September - can't wait to go ! I've been very impressed with the email contacts . THe price is wonderful.

Have either of you been to ( or booked for the future ) any locations in Florence , Rome or Sorrento ?

Hi lmont,
Will be anxiously awaiting your thoughts on this B&B. It is our choice for our trip next year to Venice. It looks fantastic and the price can't be beat. Have a great trip.

I was in Florence about three years ago, and stayed at Hotel Porta Faenza. It's placed in an old palazzo, beautifully kept, with nice rooms -at least the one I used- and a good breakfast. The location is very conveninent, -just a short walk to the main monuments, by the central market-a nd there were a pair of really nice trattorias in the same street, and a wonderful gelatteria just on the corner.

I'm not sure why this got topped with a post about Florence, but I'm glad it did - jamikins, I have a stay booked at Ai Tagliapietra in a few weeks and am very excited to hear about your experience! The TA reviews all seemed good so that's why we booked it, but it's nice to hear feedback from someone you "know." Even more excited now!
